Christopher Webster [Celluloid 10.18.09] Russia movie trailer news action fantasy adventure

We've been following the progress of this Timur Bekmambetov produced superhero actioner for a long time now and after a couple of decent teasers we're glad to finally see a full blown trailer that showcases some slick action as well as a moody atmosphere. Directed by Alexandr Voitinsky, Black Lightning has been made to be Russia's answer to America's recent obsession with super-hero movies, so fully expect some comic book pomp and bluster with this one.

Synopsis:
This is a story of Moscow University's student who becomes the owner of ordinary from the first sight, been-used, but... able to fly "Volga" car. With this car he will be able to not only avoid Moscow traffic jams, but unexpectedly for himself turn to city's defender, mysterious fighter against Evil.

Black Lightning will appear in theaters in Russia on 31st December 2009.

Hello, I am trying to cancott someone who might be able to arrange for this film to be shown at the National Association for Multicultural Education conference to be held Nov. 2-5 in Chicago. I am in charge of the film festival portion of the conference and think Dark Girls would be an excellent fit with our conference. If you are not familiar with NAME you can visit our website listed above. The film would be seen by many of the 1,000 educators who attend our conference each year. Please email me and let me know how we can arrange this. Thanks! Robin Brenneman, Region 5 Director for NAME.
