Posted under: post apocalyptic trailer news scifi comedy webseries

How did I not know about this? I guess that dude from "Ask a Ninja" (Douglas Sarine) and the rest of The AV Club made a pilot for an apocalyptic, sci-fi comedy series called Team A.P.O.C.A.L.Y.P.S.E.. Not only that, but the pilot's director, Nick Armstrong, just picked up a “Best Director” nod for it at the 2009 NYTVF in Manhattan.

They call the half-hour series, set in post-apocalyptic America, "Ghostbusters meets Children of Men" which is a bit of a stretch, but I'm sure they're exaggerating.

Synopsis:
Four “men” are forced to search the barren wasteland for women to help save mankind. No one on Team A.P.O.C.A.L.Y.P.S.E. (American Planetary Objectives Committee Avoiding Life’s Yesterday and Preventing Society’s Extinction) wants to be there, but since the only alternative is death... they’re giving it a shot. They have limited supplies and even more limited brain capacity.

The show's cast also includes Nick Armstrong, Kevin Ford, Ryan Gaul and Jeff Kriese and the full pilot is slated to be released on MSN pretty soon, so keep an eye out.

Watch the trailer after the break.

Although it's a comedy, the premise is that no one will really start paying attention to our deadly world issues until the rich folks lose something. Hopefully some rich person will miss that and still buy the show:)

Thanks for the post! Love the site, I'm a huge fan of post-apocalyptic movies etc. I will be having a LA premiere of the pilot in Los Angeles December 11th @ 10p at iO West in Hollywood www.iowest.com If you'd like to come let me know, I'll get you some tickets if you're in this area. Ghostbusters meets Children of Men is a bit of a stretch :) more Ghostbuster humor! Thanks again and I appreciate the nod and your site.
