A storm ravages the land, leaving behind two brothers wandering through the aftermath. Abel and his five year old brother Noah are making their way through the desolation, a "beautiful wasteland" of grass, tress and ponds. They’re in search for something but what isn't clear. In a separate but somehow connected story, a young child is questioned by a soldier. Where the child came from or why the soldier is involved is also unclear but one thing is for certain, I can’t wait to find out.

Those are the stories that make up Aspen Michael Taylor’s new film God Land. The title itself suggests something otherworldly and the images and teaser trailer for the film reaffirm my initial thought. This story could take many different shapes but I’m hoping for survival story because the idea of two young boys wondering through the vast emptiness with no food, water or shelter could make for great post-disaster drama.

There’s also Taylor’s obvious eye for beauty which comes through in the both the film’s teaser and the stills which populate the film’s website, suggesting something akin to Terrence Malick.

God Land is currently in post-production and I hope to see a full length trailer arrive soon with some additional footage and a better look at what Taylor has in store.

Teaser after the break.

I spot a blooper. At the end of the trailer you can clearly see a car driving down the road in the distance. Well, it's only a blooper if this is a P/A flick. That, we're not sure of yet.
