Inependent production team, Rich Robinson & Neil Moore, are in the initial stages of prepping an extremely fun looking movie modeled after such 80's kid's flick favorites as The Goonies and Monster Squad. The film, called Slayers, is about a group of misfits who must band together to fight a growing threat of monsters in their sleepy little town." Yep, sounds like Monster Squad alright.

The first promo reel has made its way onto the interwebs and while I expect none of what we're seeing will make it into the finished product, it's clear the direction the project intends to go. Clearly a kid's flick, but not at all afraid to throw a little blood our way.

Check out the promo trailer for Slayers after the break.

lol the teeth on the dog/wolf, or whatever the hell it was. Besides that, looks like jailbait movie to me.

Haha, that looks good. Cheesy, of course, but I really want to see it. I've loved makeshift weapons ever since Reggie's four barrell shotgun, and the hockey stick/executioner's blade works for me.

Cheap ass ripoff of MONSTER SQUAD!

Clearly what has occurred here is some producers coked up nephew one night saw monster squad and said "Hey I bet my uncle will help us get this produced and I could be the director *snort* and we can make a million dollars by ripping off MONSTER SQUAD."

Monster Squad FTW!
This crap is L7.

If you have never seen MONSTER SQUAD, its basically the same concept only is full of WIN!

Seriously though MONSTER SQUAD deserves mention.

what, have you actually seen monster squad? it looked cheep even for then.

That said, this looks like sort of a knockoff to me, and not a very well produced one.

Is this the film that started as a remake of Monster Squad?
