"If the world were to end tomorrow, how would you live today?" That's the question put forth by Diane Bell in her feature film debut Obselidia.

In competition at Sundance, the film stars Michael Piccirilli as George, a lonely librarian who is chronicling all things that are becoming obsolete in an encyclopedic book called the Obselidia. In his quest to capture people, technologies, and ideas that are disappearing, he meets Sophie, a vivacious cinema projectionist who takes him on a road trip to Death Valley where he discovers that love is not obsolete after all.

I love these odd romances and Bell’s doesn't only sound the part but it also looks the part. The film’s trailer is a thing of beauty and ok, it helps that Gaynor Howe (Sophie) is a pretty, pretty lady.

Trailer after the break.
