The first time I saw the first trailer for Kay Blackwood’s directorial debut Grey Skies, I wasn’t sure what to think. I loved the music and aesthetic of the film and though the opening 30 seconds featured some mediocre acting, the rest of the trailer knocked my socks off, even if I couldn’t figure out exactly what was going on.

The basics are that a group of college friends rent a cabin in the hopes of spending the weekend reminiscing about the good old days. As they’re watching the sunset, the group sees something odd and decide to investigate. They venture into the woods and it’s at this point that the trailer gets dark and mystifying. It’s clear something’s gone wrong but it’s not clear exactly what. A little legwork has uncovered that what they find in the forest isn’t a serial killer but rather an alien.

If I was curious before, I’m down right excited now. What does the alien want? Is it alone? The mysteries of Grey Skies are many and I’m hoping Blackwood will deliver some good answers.

The film is currently in post production, we’ll be keeping you posted as more details develop.

Trailer after the break.

i heard about this, the guy who draws the Jefbot comics is supposed to be in it. If you're interested he posted a lot of commentary about the shoot and such on his site.
