Alternate Victorian England. Steam-punk technology has developed quickly. Art and creativity are closely regulated by the state. The Marionette Unit is a theatre show which uses the advanced technology to fuse human and machine together to create a theatre show controlled by a musical machine which resembles an organ.

It’s in this world that director Azhur Saleem and co-writer Paul Adams have set their upcoming film The Marionette Unit which tells the story of Georgette, a dancer in the Marionette Unit who is trying to break free of the machine to join Smith, a man who is connected to an underground society of artists who are hunted by the police.

It’s a great concept and the first teaser for the film suggests some great talent at work. Made up of a short clip followed by some concept artwork, this provides a great taste of what we can expect from Saleem’s project. More as it comes!
