Jonathan English's 13th Century warfare flick, Ironclad, has been quietly filming in Wales for about two weeks now. Being a fan of James Purefoy, I've had my eye on the film for half a year, so I'm glad to report that this new collage of raw footage that has been assembled into trailer-form is looking pretty great. Especially keeping in mind that the sound is temporary and the film hasn't been through any photographic post-production or real editing.

Synopsis:
In 13th century a determined group of Knights Templar defends Rochester Castle against the tyrannical King John.

Besides Purefoy, the movie stars a simply stellar cast in Paul Giamatti, Richard Attenborough, Robert Carlyle, Bob Hoskins, Pete Postlethwaite, Brian Cox, William Moseley, Jason Flemyng and Kate Mara. Very much looking forward to this one.

Check out the first footage (via: Cinematical) after the break.
