This is a big week for DVD and Blu-ray releases folks, so grab a pen and get that watch-list rocking!

First up, we've got Christian Alvart's spaceship thriller, Pandorum (review, amazon). I consider this one of the best scifi/horror hybrids in recent memory so if you haven't seen it yet, do check it out.

Next we've got Lionsgate's release of the cyberpunk actioner, Gamer (review, DVD review, amazon). Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor's frenetic mise-en-scene will not be for everyone, but the film plays better on the small screen and the DVD and blu-ray are loaded with tons of goodies. This renter will go down great with a six=pack of your favorite domestic beer.

Then we've got Joel Schumacher's controversial farmhouse horror, Blood Creek. I'm getting creamed in the comments on my review (amazon) of the film for mentioning that the script contained some flawed logic. Apparently the story was heavily changed, but I thought the film was great nonetheless and can easily recommend checking it out on your favorite format.

Okay, so what else we got? Well, that arctic thriller, Whiteout (amazon), with Kate Beckinsale is out today. This one is getting some pretty bad reviews and I imagine it warrants them, but I like the setting so I'll be giving it a spin I suspect.

Oooh, Steven Soderbergh's CHE (amazon) is out on criterion disc today. Also, there's a kick-ass new special edition release of the 1977 animalsploitation classic, Kingdom of the Spiders (amazon) with the incomparable William Shatner.
