One of the most important things about a trailer is the music. Sure, it needs to look nice but there's something about a song choice that either makes or breaks a film trailer. In the case of Tim Courtney's An Artificial Light, the music certainly helps make the trailer.

I'm not 100% sure what the film is about but from what I can gather from the trailer, it's about a boy and girl who break up and the boy is desperately trying to forget the now defunct relationship. It looks as though the film is a sort of trip down memory lane though I'm not sure if that's exactly the case or if the trailer starts at the end of the story. Consider this part of the mysterious charm of Courtney's film. What we can tell for sure is that it looks great. I love the sort of faded look which I hope is not simply a result of the upload but rather what the film looks like. It also gives the film a timeless sort of quality. The other seller is, of course, the music. The choice to use Debutant's “King of Doublespeak” is really wonderful.

An Artificial Light is scheduled for release later this year.

Check out the trailer after the break.
