When Croatian director Nevio Marasovic caught wind of Charlie Brooker's Dead Set - a show about Big Brother contestants surviving a zombie holocaust - his heart sank. He had been working on his own big budget apocalypse actioner set against the concept of the reality show for years and it's every filmmakers worst fear to realize someone might turn around and say, "oh, it's like that other movie" about your film.
The truth is, there is more than enough room for films that bridge similar territory as long as each brings a little something new to the table. How many zombie movies come out every year? How many of them are really all that different in the end?
Plus, The Show Must Go On isn't even about zombies. Without a synopsis it's tough to be sure, but from the English subbed trailer we've just been sent, it seems more like the contestants have to face a post-nuke world.
Personally, I think the film looks intriguing and I'm going to try and get a screener to review since there's no indication that it's coming to our neck of the world anytime soon. It's big enough that it's getting a theatrical release in its native Croatia though.
Check out the trailer after the break.

Well no zombies so I don't see much in common except that it takes place on a "reality show" set. I think it looks interesting a bit more dramatic than "Dead Set".

Everything about it can be found here in Croatian:

In short let me translate the part about the plot:
"The story follows ambitious and successful producer 40-year old Filip Dogan, who is producing in Zagreb 10 years in the future since now a reality show "Housed".
the show in its form and context is very similar to The Big Brother, but "Housed" lasts for 180 days, where 6 couples in love live together in a house built for the occasion.
The plot begins when during the show the world war begins on the outside, which in short time envelops the entire Europe and turns it into a battlefield. Filip Dogan focuses all his efforts to keep the contestants in the dark about the truth of the outside world and happenings, in the beginning out of sheer show rate mongering, and after out of emotional bond with the contestants and compassion for them.
The directors says also that The Show must go on is in essence a drama about social and interpersonal relations, where all other elements such as war serve as backdrop for it.
The script was written in 2003, thus preceding The Dead set and is very similar to Emir Kusturica's - Underground, but still remains "original" as much as a script can be.
Was announced postprod in Pula last year:

there it is.

not only this movie reminds of Dead set, but it's a poor and uninnovative copy of Kusturica's Underground.
i think the director combined elements of three movies and now got stuck. plus, from the trailer i see some really crappy overacting.
