The Edge is yet another big-budget Russian production that has been on my radar for a while. It's a lavish period piece full of bruisers bare-knuckle fighting, locomotive racing and just a touch of wilderness survival set against the backdrop of war. The first trailer has arrived and it's intrigued me even more, despite not having any English subtitles yet.

Synopsis:
Autumn 1945, Ignat comes to a Siberian town to work as a machinist. Entertainment in the little village is fighting, f***ing and locomotive racing. Competing, Ignat divides the engine, which works. In secret, a friend tells him that somewhere on an island there's a forgotten engine from before the war. He goes in search of the engine, and finds a little German girl, who lived through the war alone on the island.

There's action, adventure, drama and odd battle-of-the-sexes humor galore in the first theatrical trailer for Alexei Uchitel's The Edge, so be sure to check it out after the break.

Translation: Communist savagery garbage.

Uchitel's Dreaming of Space is a really good film but that trailer feels about five times longer than it really is ... great cinematographer but, man, that drags ...

Looks interesting to me. I hope it gets a dubbed version as I hate subtitles.

Interesting concept, but without subs I can't tell why things are happening.
