And that's not just a good thing. It's a great thing.

If like me, you were a little disappoint by Burton’s Alice in Wonderland (review) let me introduce you to Wyatt Denny’s vision of Alice. Alice & The White Hair is more like ECiLA (check out details on that film here) than Burton’s version (thank the lords for that) and features Alice as a call girl, wild rides through downtown streets with guys that look like they’ve just walked out of a nightmare (or a night club on S&M night), pimps, drugs and a tea party complete with a game of Russian roulette. It’ hectic, grungy, creepy and covered in eye candy.

Yes, it’s crazy as hell but it also looks awesome. The visuals are top notch, as is the music and sound design and though the effects may not be cutting edge they’re effective and are impressively integrated into the look and feel of the film. Fifteen minutes wasn’t enough for me (I saw it twice) but it’s the perfect length for Denny’s story.

Apparently one of Denny’s other scripts is currently in production; I hope it’s as fresh as this one.

Full film after the break.

very very well made
love the tone
the visual language
just to nit pick, but might have been stronger with a more interesting Alice.
