Here's a cool sounding project for you. It's called The Darkness and it looks like an alien invasion flick with cool creatures that are actually driven by an intelligent species. It's being directed by newcomer Simon Foster and is skedded for a 2011 release date.

Synopsis:
When the world is plunged into permanent darkness, a family is pushed to its limits to survive and fight against an unseen force.

Want to get a glimpse of the creatures? Dig on some concept art by Efstathios Sideris after the break.

More as it comes!

Hmmm, not what I was hoping for. The idea sounds nice, although the design art is really rudimentary, and uninspired, both in the execution and design sense. Still, could be a great movie, I got hopes for it.

This actually sounds interesting. I also like the artwork - it reminds me of War of the Worlds. There is definitely potential here.
