At this point, it’s pretty much a given that Canadian director Xavier Dolan is one to watch. His debut film J'ai tué ma mère caught the attention of the Cannes Jury last year and it may well be that his follow-up, a story of two friends caught in a love triangle, may also be headed for much international love and attention.

Les amours imaginaires is once again written, directed and stars Dolan in a triple threat that’s becoming a normal expectation for the young filmmaker. This teaser shares some of the goodness of J'ai tué ma mère namely a timeless look that makes it difficult to pinpoint when it was made. Add in his ability to mark his personal stories with an underlying universality and you have a master filmmaker in the making.

Enough rambling. Here’s the goodness, a trailer so pretty, magical and charming that it had me smiling from ear to ear. And if you haven’t yet caught up with the young director’s previous film, this would be a good time to do so.

Trailer after the break.

ok, very nice trailer, what what the hell has this movie to do with post-apocalyptic/science-fiction/futuristic/fantasy/weird films?
Quietearth.us should be more loyal to its own and original purpose: share information and reviews about the kind of movies above mentioned. There are plenty of other websites and blogs devoted to films like "Les Amours Imaginaires".
