I'm giving Reeves an early pass on this based on a decent trailer that looks, for the most part, like it honours the Swedish original Let the Right One In. I still think that the new title, "Let Me In," is a travesty. It completely changes what the original title means.

Synopsis:
Let Me In tells a terrifying tale about an alienated 12-year old boy named Owen (Kodi Smit-McPhee) who is viciously bullied by his classmates and neglected by his divorcing parents. Achingly lonely, Owen spends his days plotting revenge on his middle school tormentors and his evenings spying on the other inhabitants of his apartment complex. His only friend is his new neighbor Abby (Chloe Moretz), an eerily self-possessed young girl who lives next door with her silent father (Richard Jenkins). A frail, troubled child about Owen's age, Abby emerges from her heavily curtained apartment only at night and always barefoot, seemingly immune to the bitter winter elements. Recognizing a fellow outcast, Owen opens up to her and before long, the two have formed a unique bond.

I'm thinking that's not the ONLY part of this movie that's going to be "Americanized." Wonder how they're going to deal with the voyeurism scene... That has church group panic written all over it.

For what it's worth, "Let Me In" is the title of the novel the films are based on. That's also the proper translation of the original film's title.

I have loads of love for the original but must admit this doesn't looks awful. Looks rather promising actually. The kids in particular looks like they actually work.

What morons run this film industry. Matt Reeves can't direct for shit. Cloverfield was like a friggin amateur dramatics night.

Nope, that's not true. It's called "Låt den rätte komma in" (Let the right one in). Same name as the movie (both in swedish and english).

Saw it on the big screen at Toronto After Dark back in ... 2008? Fantastic.

Seems like a compliment to the author and those who own the original movie, not to mention the extra money going/coming their way. I saw the original, liked it, bought it, and look forward to seeing the "americanized" version.
