Well here's something kind of fun. Take a Zombie Priest with hordes of zombies to do his bidding, some cannibals, vampires, deadly robots, a dude named Goon and his scrawny sidekick Franky (aka Francesca), boobs, girls and a little animation and you (basically) have The Goon.

Based on  Eric Powell's comic which I've only ever seen in passing and judging from this first teaser, this is definitely not the comic book adaptation to take your kids to. Produced by the great David Fincher and starring the voice talents of Clancy Brown as Goon and  Paul Giamatti as Franky, it's not really apparent (yet) what the plot of this particular adventure will be but I expect that will all be much clearer after the film premieres a bit more footage at Comic-Con. For now, MTV has a 30 second preview with a taste of what we can expect and it looks promising.

This isn't exactly cutting edge animation but there's something about the wrough edges that works well with this story. Even better, the 30 second clip is enough of a teaser to suggest this isn't for the faint of heart. Expect zombies, boobs and probably a bit of vulgarity – I can certainly accept that; it's been a while since I've seen a decidedly adult animated feature. Not sure when we'll have a chance to see this as the film doesn't yet have a distributor but if things go well at the geek convention, we could see that all changing pretty quickly.

Wonder what, if anything, this means for Fincher's Heavy Metal which is also being created at Blur Studios (the dudes behind the animation here). If this is anything to go by, we could be in for a super awesome treat. When do we get to see a teaser of that movie?

Check out the clip after the break.
