MTV is reporting from a chat they had with author Max Brooks that Paramount has given the go ahead for World War Z with a targeted release of Summer 2012. Further, Brad Pitt, whose production company Plan B had optioned the rights to the novel, will star in the film as well. Paramount has also optioned the rights to Brooks two other endeavors, The Zombie Survival Guide and the graphic novel Zombie Survival Guide: Recorded Attacks.
Now I'm no fan of Pitt, but considering he was great in The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, I think it could work.
Now, hurry up with that new script! We reviewed an old one.
