Remember that story last week about a project titled 2010: Moby Dick about the re-telling of the story with Captain Ahab and a high tech submarine? This is the complete opposite.
Instead of going high-tech, director Ryan Little and crew have reworked the classic story to hunt dragons rather than a whale. Age of the Dragons (originally known as Dragon Fire) is described as follows:
In a medieval realm where Captain Ahab and crew hunt dragons for the vitriol that powers their world, Ishmael, a charismatic harpooner, joins their quest. Ahab’s adopted daughter Rachel, beautiful and tough, runs the hunting vessel. Ahab’s obsession to seek revenge on a great “White Dragon” that slaughtered his family when he was young and left his body scarred and mauled drives the crew deeper into the heart of darkness. In the White Dragon’s lair, Ahab’s secrets are revealed and Rachel must choose between following him on his dark quest or escaping to a new life with Ishmael.
If that’s not awesome enough the film also stars Danny Glover and Vinnie Jones. Bring on the awesome!

Crapfest.

I agree with bill - crapfest only made worst by the rock music filmmakers seem to always think makes sword & sorcery cooler. Danny Glover as Ahab is just as bad as his wizard character in the Earthsea tv movie.

they seems to make the Dragons less Godly like in this. Dragon the best Dragon comes from "Dragon Slayer."
This looks interesting though.

Danny Glover looks awesome in this! Agreed the "heavy metal" trailer is a little weak and "unfitting" but somehow I still want to see the concept played out. They should re-cut the trailer -- I don't think they have a "metal music" trailer, they lack the big CG shots for that, so instead they should play to their strengths, the concept, acting, and story.

I am hoping for the best (the idea does have merit), but am anticipating a SyFy quality production.

"If that's not awesome enough..."
It's not awesome enough, it's shite.
Mr.5 (2 years ago) Reply
it could be interesting but somehow there's an off putting feeling about it, almost as if you can taste the impending disaster ... there's a pun title wringling in my tongue, i wonder what it is, oh, right "How to maim your dragon"

Uwe Boll?!
And overacting Danny Glover.
Best scene: "DRAGON!" looool
