This student short film from a few years back is now going feature length and is currently filming. While the teaser, which I presume is from the original short, is obviously ultra low budget, it has a good feel to it reminiscent of Primer. We're following this after breaking news on Phasma Ex Machina which we and many other outlets also compared to Primer, and unfortunately, turned out to be terrible. (Yes, I turned it off it was so boring and poorly done) But considering the this huge new wave of scifi films, we can hope.
In the sci-fi thriller Polypore, a recent college graduate is transformed by a rare fungus. As he searches for secrets in Manhattan, Tokyo, Paris and Los Angeles, a corporate force threatens to enslave the entire human population. He is the only missing link in their biopharmaceutical operation.
