Snowblind (an indie PA film we've discussed here and here) has just been released world-wide on the internet, available for free through partners like YouTube, RapidShare and WasabiTV.com.au.
"The Post-Apocalyptic Spaghetti Western" was shot by a posse of German movie enthusiasts who were united by their strong love for 70s and 80s grindhouse cinema. With their daring concept of "cowboys with motorbikes" they were able to draw a lot of professionals to both sides of the camera.
A cast of fresh talents from the US, the UK, Australia, Ireland and even South Africa make the film truly stand out. And Wim Wenders, one of Germany' most renowned directors, crowns the film with one of his very rare guest appearances as an actor.
Snowblind was produced entirely on private funds, and used the help of the online community wreckamovie.com, which was funded by the makers of internet phenomenon Star Wreck.
Watch Snowblind in its entirety in HQ after the break, or download here.

Well worth the watch. They got the grindhouse feel down pat and the story and visuials were awesome. Now why can't Hollywood do stuff like this????

Very fun watch. More free online flicks should be this good.

I'm watching Snowblind and getting an uncomfortable feeling of deja vu, that Ive seen this story before.
Then I realized that this is a remake of a 1978 Monte Hellman spaghetti western called China 9, Liberty 37. The exact same story, characters and romantic theme just transposed to a "post apocalyptic" setting.
Kalle Max (1 year ago) Reply
Right, it's a hommage to "China" which is BTW featured in the "Z Channel" movie. Today that film is public domain and a good quality print is a treasure many fans are looking for. Anyways, that's a reason Snowblind was made and is also dedicated to Monte Hellman (see end credits)...
