Taking place in one of the most beautiful parts of the country, the Whistler Film Festival, only in its tenth year, has been building a reputation as the Sundance of Canadian film and for good reason. Programmers at Whistler have always displayed great taste but they’ve now entered into the stratosphere of impeccable and at this rate, Whistler is turning into the festival I look forward to the most.

In addition to the previously announced opening gala presentation of Daydream Nation (trailer), the rest of the festival has been announced and it’s like a girl’s dream. You Are Here (trailer, review), Jacob Tierney’s Good Neighbours, Blue Valentine, Bruce McDonald’s Trigger (trailer), Attenberg (trailer), Wrecked (trailer), Meek’s Cutoff, Brad Anderson’s Vanishing on 7th Street (trailer, review) and the world premiere of Hard Core Logo 2.

Phew, I lost my breath just oogling at the goodness. How they’re managing to squeeze this much goodness into 5 days is staggering but I’ll be there to take most of it in. Loads more titles and festival details at the festival website.
