We don't know whether "AMG Heartland" is a feature film or some online story that will unfold as a serial, but Neil Blomkamp has got our attention with this creepy ass teaser trailer that was released on Wired.
The clip shows two kids coming across a wreck by the side of the road. A trail in the dirt leads to the critter you see to the right with a stamp on it saying "inspected and approved by the US" or somthing like that.
Like District 9, Blomkamp has merged the mundane with the uncanny to create something viseral and engaging. This I like. However, if the entire series or film is handheld, I know a lot of you will be unhappy as the technique is starting to get played out.

pity they had to add a score to the teaser. I think it undoes the real tape concept somewhat.

Defs wanna check this out, though I must say that the handheld was even too much for me, and I'm almost entirely immune to the effect.
