movie trailer news drama When Run Lola Run hit the scene in 1998, director Tom Tykwer gained quite a bit of international attention and talk was that this was a director to watch. He followed it up with the excellent The Princess + the Warrior before making the jump to Hollywood. I liked Heaven well enough (it features some excellent performances from Cate Blanchett and Giovanni Ribisi) and his follow-up Perfume was a home run for me though the general reception was a little less stellar. I never got around to The International, it was a little too glossy and generic for me, but I was thrilled to hear that Tykwer was returning to Germany for the first time in nearly eight years.
The move proved to be a success and Drei (Three) premiered at Venice to good reviews and general consensus that the director’s return to a small scale production was exactly what his career needed.
News on the production have been scarce aside from a few images shortly after the film’s premiere but with its German release due on at the end of the year, a trailer has made its way online and it looks promising.
Official synopsis:
THREE is about Hanna and Simon, a couple in their early forties who lives together in Berlin. Unknown to each other they both become acquainted with Adam, a younger man – and fall in love with him. When Hanna becomes pregnant, their whistle gets blown – and the question pops up: Who is the father? THREE is a tragicomical movie about love, morals and the sexes in a late-modernist German society at the mercy of its mixed feelings.

so, so, so tired of movies about gay people. The theme is boring already.
