Christopher Webster [Celluloid 12.01.10] United Kingdom movie trailer news horror

The Brits are certainly leading the charge in demented indie horror these days and Alex Chandon's Inbred looks to continue the trend. This teaser for the project currently in post-production offers a mere glimpse at what's in store, but it's last scene shot under the harsh light of day suggests that there will be no punches pulled here.

I have a feeling that Inbred will be by the numbers survival horror, but that shot makes me hope it's like Dark Night of the Scarecrow, or Wicker Man (the good one). Probably won't be though...

A disparate group of young urban offenders and their care workers embark on a community service weekend in the strange, remote Yorkshire village of Mortlake, which prides on keeping itself to itself. A minor incident with some local inbred youths rapidly escalates into a blood-soaked, deliriously warped nightmare for all involved. This is a demented horror film with nowt taken out.

Trailer after the break.

Having been to Yorkshire many times, I do wonder if this is actually a fly-on-the-wall documentary rather than a horror, because the synopsis sounds like any other day oooop north ;)
