The first look at Doug Aarniokoski's post apocalyptic indie, The Day has appeared (via: Twitch). We're still a little fuzzy on the story details, but the footage looks absolutely stunning.

Synopsis:
An apocalyptic siege warfare film spanning 24 hrs during which a small group of survivors are pit against insurmountable odds.

The Day stars a laundry list of scifi and fantasy staples including Shawn Ashmore (Frozen, The X Men), Ashley Bell (The Last Exorcism) and Dominic Monaghan (Lost, Lord of the Rings).

Check out the teaser trailer after the break.

This looks amazing...but who are they fighting or warring against?

Shannyn Sossoman. Explosions in the Sky. I'm finding it very hard not to think about seeing this

This looks gorgeous! And I love Explosions in the Sky, I wonder if they're making the music in the film? I've always thought they would fit a PA movie.

What is it about 99.999% of PA films that make directors want to dress up their cast like rejects from "Mad Max 2"?

That's one of many things that makes "Walking Dead" refreshing: ordinary people wearing ordinary clothes.

Really, MrSatyre? I'm pretty sure we can't have watched the same teaser ... because I don't see Mad Max 2 rejects ... I see regular people dressed in layers due to the cold ... nothing extreme. I don't recall any mohawks or crazy piercings ... or feathered shoulder pads. I think you are being needlessly critical. I for one am really intrigued and eager to see what this film is all about.
