Brian Trenchard-Smith is awesome. He's like the Roger Corman of Australia. Escape 2000, Dead End Drive In, Night of the Demons 2, Frog Dreaming and Stunt Rock are just a few of the many kick ass titles in his arsenal of awesome.

Now the ozploitation master has returns with a schlocky made for TV post-apocalyptic flick called Arctic Blast. We reported on it a ways back, but we've got the trailer so it's time for an update.

Synopsis:
When a solar eclipse sends a colossal blast of super chilled air towards the earth, it sets off a catastrophic chain of events that threatens to engulf the world in ice!

JACK TATE is a brilliant yet troubled physicist specializing in Earth Sciences. Complicating his life is a messy divorce from the local medical examiner EMMA (Alexandra Davies) and a strained relationship with his teenaged daughter ANDREA (Indiana Evans). When Jack learns about the bizarre deaths of his colleagues, he sets off to discover the cause. By piecing together the chain of events: the solar eclipse, a sudden drop in temperature of the mesosphere, and a rip in the ozone layer, Jack concludes that all of these elements have combined to create the ultimate disaster--a new ICE AGE!

With part of the South Pacific in a deep freeze and a mass evacuation underway in coastal Australia and New Zealand. It must be stopped before millions more die.

Usually I try to keep an open mind about some of the Cinematic Masterpieces shown on SYFY I see here. In that sprit I would like to say to the staff of QE thank you for another two minutes and five seconds of my life I will never get back.

I love these "that's 2 mins 5 secs I will never get back" guys. Honesty watching this trailer and then complaining about it is most likely the highlight of their week. If you can't enjoy a fun flick like this you really are cruising the wrong website.

It's Brian Trenchard Smith... The man that created such wonders as "Turkey Shoot" and "BMX Bandits". These confirm it's going to be cheap, cheesy and possibly ultra violent.

It's a kind of cloud of fog made by nitrogen or oxygen at low temperatures? If I could not believe "The Day After Tomorrow", I will not believe this. But I like this kind of movies because makes me laugh and relax, without neglecting the work they do.
