In Spanish mini-series Tormenta, a University professor separates his class into two groups to teach them about class and ethnic divides. The nationals, or “superiors,” and the foreigners, or “inferiors”.
The objective for each group is to navigate the new social structure to obtain the privileges of food, lodging, and even access to books to prepare for their end of year exams. There are students of other ethnic groups who enter the group of nationals and vice versa... and then it all goes to hell in a hand basket. Big surprise right?
Obviously reminiscent of Das Experiment, Tormenta looks like it could be a pretty bleak and intense look at human nature.
