Got a friend who loves zombie flicks and isn't afraid of subtitles? Then IFC's release of La Horde (review) is the perfect last minute shotgun blast to the stocking before next weekend. We've been following this one since pre-production, so I can't wait to check it out.

Also out this week is Futurama: Volume Five. Truly this is the show that refuses to go down. Cancelled twice, revived on DVD and picked up again last year by Comedy Central, volume five is the best yet with edgier jokes and more mutants that ever!

Want even more scifi cartoonage? Check out Family Guy's latest Star Wars satire It's a Trap!.

Why it took Salt so long to come out on Blu-ray I'll never know, but the Angelina Jolie starrer is out, just in time for the holidays. I saw this on a plane flying to France this summer and thought it was actually kind of entertaining - if a little daft. Incidentally, Salt if written by Kurt Wimmer who directed Equilibrium.

All right what else we got? The one-room thriller, Devil, which is produced by M. Night Shayamalan debuts this week. Reviews on it weren't bad, so I plan on giving it a spin.

For the money hungry member of the family, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps gets a release and there's even a Collector's 2 Pack that includes both films.

Failed Battlestar Galactica spin-off, Caprica, sees the release of the second half of season 1. It seems SyFy learned a thing or two about milking fans during their BSG days.

Last but not least we're finally seeing a release of Pinprick, a strange film about a girl who hides a criminal in her closet. It's a Hungarian/Swiss flick, but it's in English and you can check out the trailer here.

La Horde is not so bad. Fresh view on things in the genre.
