Huge week for releases, so grab a pen and list up!! First we've got Giorgos Lanthimos's Dogtooth (review) a film we covered relentlessly for over a year and which, has received almost unanimous praise from critics and viewers alike.

Next up, is Gaspar Noe’s groundbreaking Enter the Void (review) which, like Dogtooth, essentially owned the fest circuit over the last year. We're also running a contest with IFC for this one for another day so don't miss your chance to win a copy!


We're stacking this one up with the big boys because it's a doozy - that's Severin's release of Alejandro Jodorowsky's Santa Sangre on Blu-ray and DVD. I think this might be the first time it's been available - certainly the first on Blu so Jodorowsky fans rejoice.

The third episode of Stieg Larsson's "Millennium Trilogy," The Girl who Kicked the Hornets Nest is also out this week. You gotta hand it to those Swedes, they pumped these out in record time.

Then we've got the release of SAW: The Final Chapter (thank god). Heard this one is supposed to be epically ridiculous, but hey, isn't that the fun of this bloated franchise?

Anchor Bay Entertainment's got their second animated Dead Space feature out this week. We're hearing it's a good follow up to the first feature that kind of surprised everyone when it turned out to be a bloody good film.

One film I never saw in theatres but will try to catch up with is RED which promoted itself heavily as that Helen Mirren-with-a-machine-gun-movie. Heard mixed things, so it'll be fun to finally catch up with it.

And lastly, Josh Reed's Primal (review) is out on R1 release. This one's been called a new "ozploitation classic," but I'll have to see for myself. Seems kind of naff to me. Good cover art though.

I know this is a bit old but this was a good week for releases. Primal was pretty decent. Kind of a nice comb of sorts. Blu-ray releases 2011 looks awesome (http://www.filmcrave.com/bluray_new.php)
