A couple days ago Mike White dropped out of directing duties on Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, an adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith's novel of the same name.

Well Quiet Earth has just received a tip from inside Lionsgate that the studio wants British director, Christopher Smith to take reigns on the project. To be perfectly honest, this actually makes me more interested in the project as Smith has been behind some of my favorite films including the mind-bending Triangle, Black Death and the hilarious Severance.

A couple of other reasons why I could see Lionsgate wanting Smith is that he's proven he can deliver quality goods fast and on a budget and, of course, he's British which bodes well for the subject matter.

So anyway, I guess we'll see if this tip turns out to be true, but personally I hope it does.

Shame the book is a bit rubbish though. I couldn't finish it. It was a bit boring.

Quality goods but its a dumb concept.
Like letting Akiva Goldsman write anything
and expecting it not to suck.
