I love a well edited trailer and it doesn’t get much better than this. Louis XVI Demons (М.О.Ж.) is Latvian director Aik Karapetian’s first full length feature and if this trailer is any indication, we’re in for a fantastic horror film.

The film, currently in post production, tells the story of Dan, a young man who “wants to enjoy some freedom over the weekend in a luxurious mansion. What he does not expect to find is that the mansion is already in habited, by those that are menacingly familiar to him.” I’m assuming that they’re referring to ghosts of either his past or the mansion and considering the limited amount of information on the project at the moment, your guess is as good as mine. A little mystery works to a film’s benefit. Wonder what the title, which refers to the only French King to ever be executed (for high treason no less), has to do with the story.

The trailer features no dialogue and the synopsis provided by the production company is vague but the trailer is outstanding using music, images and silence to effectively build mood. I’d be happy to see the film right now based solely on the trailer.

Trailer after the break.

Looks good. The running through the mansion was well shot.
