So the questoins remains; will Super 8 be JJ Abrams' E.T. or Close Encounters of the third Kind and the sinister force actually a benign, misunderstood visitor from the cosmos, or will this be more like Goonies or Monster Squad where there is truly evil in the world that only a group of unruly movie kids can see and deafeat?
Synopsis:
In the summer of 1979, a group of friends in a small Ohio town witness a catastrophic train crash while making a super 8 movie and soon suspect that it was not an accident. Shortly after, unusual disappearances and inexplicable events begin to take place in town, and the local Deputy tries to uncover the truth – something more terrifying than any of them could have imagined.

the trailer was ok.
I'll watch it.

also. Trains hit cars all the time. would a crash like that wouldnt happen.

Why don't you watch the film and find out? You might be pleasantly surprised.
On a side note - this is definitely the kind of film film lovers should be supporting - a totally original, non sequel / remake / reboot summer film with no movies stars made by two master filmmakers for the 12 year old kid in us all.
If you got problems with this before even seeing it, then you might just be part of the problem.

Looks great. I like how the trailer didn't spoil much
just sort of vaguely set it up.
