post apocalyptic movie review scifi horror thriller drama Man, am I pumped for this show. Just think about it for a second. Falling Skies is the first fully post-apocalyptic, post-alien invasion television show ever - at least that I can think of. Bring it!
The two-hour premiere will be on TNT Sunday, June 19 at 9/8c.
Synopsis:
FALLING SKIES opens in the chaotic aftermath of an alien attack that has left most of the world completely incapacitated. The few remaining survivors have banded together outside major cities to begin the difficult task of fighting back. Each day is a test of survival as citizen soldiers engage in an insurgency campaign against the occupying alien force, whose nature and purpose remains a mystery. FALLING SKIES is a tale of endurance, commitment and courage in which everyday people are called upon to become heroes. The survivors may be outmatched, outnumbered and outgunned, but nothing can beat the human spirit. The series combines stunning visual effects and personal human stories about triumph and survival in the most devastating circumstances.
Falling Skies stars Wyle as Tom Mason, a Boston history professor whose family has been torn apart. Bloodgood also stars as Anne Glass, a pediatrician who works with the survivors. Will Patton (Armageddon, TNT’s Into the West) plays a fierce leader of the resistance, Weaver. And Roy plays Mason’s eldest son and fellow- fighter, Hal.
FALLING SKIES comes to TNT from DreamWorks Television and executive producer Steven Spielberg.
UPDATE: A new poster has landed which you'll see to the right. The tagline is "We lose Control" which leads me to believe that these aliens have mind control abilities. Bit of spoiler, but cool nonetheless.
Trailer/Featurette after the break. What do you guys think?

Could be friggin awesome. I just dont get how there can be any resitance to a force that has obviously destroyed the worlds standing armies. Hope they have a some weally good reasons.. :)

Yeah, this one looks impressive. But pretty stereotyping - the Aliens are bad guys again.
You right though - a post-apocalyptic tv show is pretty new tv development. I wonder, how it will be continued.

I have the great pleasure of working with the TNT people who are diligently and tirelessly making sure that this is one of the best shows on TV. It will not disappoint. And a shameless plug, but there is some great video content on the website:

This looks awesome! Can’t wait o see this, though I do wish it were on FX or AMC instead of TNT…but from what I’ve seen so far it looks pretty good, definitely worth a try. I found this using my web-search function on the Logitech Revue with Google TV while on a commercial break during the morning news. As a DISH customer and employee I’ve been using the Logitech Revue since it came out, and I love this thing.

The tagline is actually "We Lose Control". I think you also meant "Bring it" in the first paragraph. #corrections
The show indeed looks interesting, though!

"This is our world".
"On tnt we know drama".
Right, whatever, I'll skip it with utmost pleasure.

Looks promising, hope it delivers. And for those of us in Canada, anyone know whether a station picked it up?

trailer looks like good enough fun but MIND CONTROL???? give me a f***ing break.....looked good until you brought that point up....sure hope that IS NOT what they meant by WE LOSE CONTROL...
G.H. (1 year ago) Reply
What's wrong with a little mind control? They said the aliens went after kids in the trailer, maybe to turn their hair white and infiltrate humanity.... But losing control of the planet comes to my mind before mind control does..I guess we'll wait and see.
