I wish I knew exactly what this was but as it stands, the details on this Swedish production are pretty much non-existent. It certainly doesn't help that I don't read the language making it particularly hard to dig up any additional information.

From what little I can make out The Behemoth comes to us from director Rafael Petersson and is produced with the help of the Swedish Film Foundation. Whether this is a short film or a full length feature... your guess is as good as mine but either way, it looks good enough to see right now, particularly if you like the arthouse, Guy Maddin meets German Expressionism sort of thing.

We'll keep digging for details but for now, all we know is the tiny bit of story we're given in the trailer (small town where things go wrong when someone new arrives) and the fantastic visuals.

Kudos to Avery for the heads up.

Teaser after the break.

There isn't that much more info out in swedish either. I'm keeping my eyes open though, seems promising.

That looks pretty amazing.

German Expressionism with a modern touch without being ironic. A tough feat.
