I'm sure there are a ton of Fright Night fans out there just waiting to tear this remake apart like a pack of blood thirsty vampires, but just hold up a sec. Yes, the trailer for Craig Gillespie's Fright Night remake starts off like another bad teen horror/comedy, but once they turn things over to baddie Colin Ferrel, things take a turn and this thing starts to gives off a sort of Donnie Darko vibe. Plus the cast of Anton Yelchin, Toni Collette and Christopher Mintz-Plasse doesn't hurt.
Synopsis:
Senior Charlie Brewster (Anton Yelchin) finally has it all—he’s running with the popular crowd and dating the hottest girl in high school. In fact, he’s so cool he’s even dissing his best friend Ed (Christopher Mintz-Plasse).
But trouble arrives when an intriguing stranger Jerry (Colin Farrell) moves in next door. He seems like a great guy at first, but there’s something not quite right—and everyone, including Charlie’s mom (Toni Collette), doesn’t notice. After witnessing some very unusual activity, Charlie comes to an unmistakable conclusion: Jerry is a vampire preying on his neighborhood. Unable to convince anyone that he’s telling the truth, Charlie has to find a way to get rid of the monster himself in this Craig Gillespie-helmed revamp of the comedy-horror classic.
So what do you think? Fright Night trailer after the break.

I count myself as a fan of the original, and oddly enough while this remake does seem largely pointless, and the decision to make it in 3D similarly so, the trailer isn't bugging me that much. Farrell seems quite naturel in the role actually, and Toni Collette is always pretty good. But where was David Tennant?

Take a look at about 2:11 in the trailer, I'm pretty sure that Tennent is in the lower right corner. Could be wrong but it looks like him.

What do i think? i think America ran out of ideas, there isn`t a single original screenwriter alive and all they do is making remakes, prequels, movie versions of comics, tv series, and everything they can lay their hands on, american or foerign...

I'm game for this remake, the cast is great and I really think this could be a very fun movie, just one thing...More Tennant!!!!

No Peter Vincent? WTF?

I'm a big fan of the original B movie Fright Night. This one looks interesting & updated for the 21st century. Young people these days will rarely watch old movies so it's way of showing them this movie to a new generation.
