trailer news horror Yep, Oren Peli has a TV show. The full TV trailer for the Paranormal Activity director's TV series The River has washed onto the shores of the internet only two days after a clip first appeared.
Synopsis:
Jeff Galfer (pictured right) stars as "Sammy" alongside Thomas Kretschmann (Hostel: Part III, Resident Evil: Apocalypse, King Kong), Bruce Greenwood, and Leslie Hope in the ABC Studios television project whose pilot episode was directed by none other than Jaume Collet-Serra (The Orphan, House of Wax).
Hope stars as "Tess," a world traveler and top-notch producer who, six months after her TV explorer husband "Emmet Cole" (Greenwood) goes missing in the Amazon, receives a signal from his beacon. Convinced that Emmet is alive, Tess forces her reluctant son, "Lincoln" (Joe Anderson), to abandon his medical studies and lead a rescue expedition.
Watch the full trailer for Oren Peli's The River after the break. What do you think? Will you swim these waters each week?

This looks f'ing awesome!

Sold! I've been interested in this ever since I heard it was picked up for a pilot. Really psyched to see how this turns out. Hopefully it will be better than The Event.

Yo JackRabbit,
The Event lost me after 10 eps. I have the same hopes as you. This looks like a first for tv.
Shocbomb (1 year ago) Reply
The event lost me becasue how dam fake and unrealistic it is. A alien race who is million's of years more advanced then we are and has the advanced technology not only to travel light years threw space to come to earth but also able to open Worm holes can't #1 stop a star from going super Nova near there home planet and #2 can't concur the Human race, I don't even know where to begin but I willput it like this if a race had to power to make and trvael threw worm holes a near buy star going super nova would be about as much of a problem as changing a light bulb for one of us.

I watched the first two episodes and here's what I learned:
Moms don't really want their sons to get advanced degrees or become doctors.
A bunch of morons are able to locate something in a few hours that an international search and rescue team couldn't find in 6 months.
A hired thug will kill you and toss you in a river if you touch his stuff.
When a "panic room" on a derelict boat is welded shut from the outside, morons will always open it without taking any safety precautions.
If you sleep with your mouth open a big, possessed dragonfly will fly down your throat without waking you up.
There's a mysterious part of the Amazon Basin that used to be inhabited by British colonials who collected dolls, lots of dolls.
A stuffed teddy bear won't deteriorate in a fetid jungle environment if you tie it to a tree (but it may come loose and chase you through the jungle).
Some sort of secret (insert one or more of the following: organization, government agency, drug cartel, cult, etc.) already knows all about the mysterious area in the amazon and its not happy about outsiders butting in.
9 year old girls with odd-looking birthmarks on their necks grow up and know way more than they let on.
The ONLY way to enjoy this show is to view it as comedy.
Can't wait for the next episode.
