Christopher Webster [Celluloid 08.02.11] Germany post apocalyptic

We ran the first clip from this dusty German PA thriller a few weeks back, but now the first official trailer has premiered. Unfortunately it is not in English, but it still looks pretty stellar and I'm dying to see it.

It was once the source of life, light and warmth. But now the sun has turned the entire world into a baked and barren wasteland. Forests are scorched. Animal carcasses line the roads. Even the nights are dazzlingly bright.

Maria, her little sister Leonie and Phillip are heading for the mountains in a car with tinted glass. Rumor has it water can still be found there. It is a hazardous trip to nowhere. Along the way, they run into Tom. He turns out to be a first-rate mechanic and becomes indispensible. But can they trust him? The tension grows. As if things weren’t bad enough, they are lured into an ambush and their real battle for survival begins…

Check it out after the break.

Hell is due our September, 2011.

It looks like another case of 'the world has ended but it turns out the greatest danger is other people'.

Are there any PA films where total strangers band together to survive and not kidnap/rape/murder/eat each other?

... why would you want to survive anyway? To live for another 30 days instead of just 3?

I really am annoyed by the huge mass of Post-Apocalyptic and Alien Invasion movies lately. Same bullshit, all the time.
