Sorry this is so late this week gang!

The Perfect Host - stars David Hype Pierce as a crazy mofo, so that's your sales pitch right there. It's too bad the trailer and marketing for the film really gave that away because I think it's the turn that probably got the film made. Anyway, one to watch out for.

Wrecked - stars Adrian Brody as a guy who wakes up in a wrecked car in the woods with no memory. Good set-up and Brody is great (as usual), but the film fell a little flat for me. I like that it went for realism, the second act was meandering and felt like there was something lacking. Like we're just killing time for the reveal at the end. But like I said, decent thriller with a great performance by Brody.

Bereavement - I don't know much about Bereavement, but it's touted as being a fairly shocking portrait of the creation of a serial killer by another serial killer. Sounds f'ing terrifying if you ask me.

X - comes from Australian director Jon Hewitt who's Acolytes was pretty solid serial-killer-in-the-suburbs movie. It stars the stunning Viva Bianca who's hotness fans of Starz's Spartacus will be well acquainted with.

Gantz - A live action, adrenaline fueled movie version of the popular Manga title. I don't know much about it, but it looks hella fun.

Children Of The Corn: Genesis - Those children in the corn, man. They just won't die.

Some quick thoughts:

Perfect Guest: Great flick. Some parts were insanely tense, I was on the edge of my seat wondering WTF was going on or going to happen. Excellent pace and a crafty story. David Hyde Pierce was perfectly cast for his role.

Wrecked: Another great flick. I'm a big fan of Adrian Brody, so my opinion might be somewhat biased, but again, perfect casting and some great acting from Brody. I was pretty easily drawn into the story. Pretty tense at times, almost hopeless at others. Very entertaining film.

Bereavement: This one was somewhat disappointing, as it didn't come close to delivering on its potential. Characters were kinda bland, I just didn't get into the plot, because it wasn't very intuitive. Lots of "Why would anyone do that?" scenes. They left a lot of loose ends and it just never came together. I really couldn't recommend it to anyone except those who like gratuitous gore simply for the sake of gore.

Haven't seen the others, but Perfect Host and Wrecked were some of the better films I've seen this year.

Disclaimer: I watch A LOT of movies ;-)
