The first official trailer has premiered for the new French produced Heavy Metal TV series called Metal Hurlant Chronicles. Very different from the promo trailers we brought you back in February. The new series is being produced by We Productions, who have teamed up with publishing house United Humanoids.
Expect to see martial artists like Michael Jai White and Scott Adkins to make appearances as the series progresses along with the likes of Rutger Hauer and James Marsters in future episodes.
All the episode are directed by Guillaume Lubrano and they will be in both English and French to appeal to multiple markets.

This bears no similarity at all to the earlier trailers- I thought they looked great but this new one looks like something from Kevin Sorbo's Hercules show. It'll be interesting to see how they pull this off- perhaps we'll get short chapters of different stories in each episode, like an issue of the magazine?

Watching looks like Herc/Xena..saw robot... almost thought..still looks like they won't follow Heavy Metal Magazine original stories

Some information bits.
This not based on the US version of Heavy Metal magazine but on the original french one METAL HURLANT (Screaming Metal, wich is the asteroid head that can be seen in some of the trailers teasers for this show).
More precisely it's based on the recent run.
Run that you can find in the US in collected form Metal Hurlant Collection - Hardcover Albums http://www.humanoids.com/album/248
Even if you hear big names and that it souds like a big budget tv Show, it is not.
It's a small but ambitious franch company that is doing it.
They dont have a bog budget for the show, and are still struggling to shoot the next episodes.
They have been backed up by many producers all around the world but not in France.
Scifi fantasy tv show is not a very popular genre in the TV producers world in France.
So yeah some stuff are a bit lacking sometimes but at least they are trying to get stuff moving in France.
I've seen the pilot with David Belle and it looks really cool, nice CGI effect.
My only grip is with the direction.
The head producer is also the director and sometime his skills are not top notch.

Oh and yes it's still in shooting so post production did not even started yet.

Looks as it's trying too hard to be other shows such as Spartacus and 300.

Looks like a copy of every other crap fighting movie out there. Can anyone write a story thats not all overly outrageous and boring fight scenes? A person would have to be a mouth breathing dunce to find this entertaining. No thanks.

Looks like a cheap knock off of Spartacus. Pass :(
