Since we missed posting about all the great new releases last week, I've bundled some of them with this week's titles. What follows is a serious allotment of awesome titles to choose from, so prepare to part with some dollar bills.




Machete Maidens Unleashed is a killer new grindhouse documentary in the vein of Not Quite Hollywood and American Grindhouse. In fact if you picked up all three you'd have a fairly amazing trilogy of wild, world-wide filmmaking because this one is specifically about the crazy sh%& that came out of the far east in the 60s, 70s and 80s. I can't wait to see this.








Trespass is a new home invasion flick you didn't know existed starring Nic Cage and Nicole Kidman. I know right, where did this come from? I don't know much about it, but that cover is intriguing enough to warrant a watch I think.




Perhaps the most controversial film of last year, A Serbian Film gets a release from Invincible Pictures. A Serbian Film. A movie you've probably hear whispers about, but have yet to see. This one's not for the meek. It is the story of an adult film star who agrees to do horrendous things to provide for his family. Enter at own risk.




Lucio Fulci's Zombie finally gets the royal Blu-ray treatment from Blue Underground. One of the very best Italian zombie flicks from the 70s, apparently the new transfer is just brilliant to see and the second disc features some new bonus material, so this one's a no-brainer for zombie fans I think.





Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale is a rare find indeed. An "evil Santa" film that is as classy as it is thrilling. You can read my full review here, but the short version is that this will become an cult Christmas classic.




From "The Collective,," Atrocious is about The discovery of 37 hours of recorded evidence that shed new light on a gruesome murder investigation. The found footage documents a family of five spending their holidays at their summerhouse, where brother-and sister Cristian and July Quintanilla pass the time investigating a terrifying local urban legend. As their investigation intensifies, strange occurrences in and around the house escalate rapidly, before culminating in unspeakable atrocities.





Attack the Block is the film that has made Joe Cornish's career. Not officially yet, but it's the writer's (Tin Tin) first directorial feature and it's won the hearts and minds of a legion of genre nerds. So it's pretty much a done deal. We WILL be hearing from Cornish again soon.

Fyi a Serbian film is not the full version. Hoping for an uncut one.

I imagined it would be the "decaf" version of A Serbian Film... damnit.

Let's keep on waiting for an uncut version.
