PA loyalists will know all about Brian K. Vaughan from his award winning Y: The Last Man comic series, about a plague that kills everything with a Y chromosome. But since then the writer has been moving into TV and has been tapped to adapt Stephen King's epic (and awesome) novel "Under the Dome," which is in development at Showtime (Weeds, Homeland).

Under the Dome is about a small town in Maine that is suddenly surrounded by an invisible and impenetrable force field. As the days tick by and the air runs out, power struggles emerge in the town --- and some really bad sh%$ goes down.

The book, which took King over twenty years to wrap his head around, is easily one of the prolific author's best works.

You can order Under the Dome here.

King is executive producing the project.

Vaughan also worked on seasons 4 and 5 of LOST.
