Good cyberpunk always leaves you a little lost, as if the grand ideas and action are so ahead of the curve that you're always racing to keep up. And nine times out of ten it's usually a Japanese film that'll blow your mind and leaving you scratching your head at the same time.

Case in point: The Source. A new cyberpunk short directed by A.T. (how cyberpunk is that?) that launches you into the action and only seems to gives you a fraction of the larger story. I've seen it a couple times now and I think I'm finally putting the pieces together.

Synopsis:
AD 2044, Japan's once strong prestige in the international community has
tarnished after years of economic stagnation. In order to reclaim its prestige, the National Strategy Bureau has resorted to an extravagant series of mass media psyops.

This program is called "Source".

That was freakin' amazing. Solid. I'd watch/buy a full length film from these guys any day. Is there any more info on the filmmakers or film anywhere... in English? Pretty please. I saw in the credits the production company was TYO productions who also worked on Appleseed Saga: Ex Machina... which I guess totally makes sense.
