Mad Max creator George Miller recently spoke about his life and work and, yes, thankfully touched on the languishing Mad Max: Fury Road project that has seemed to have stalled out. It seems that not only is the project still happening, but that there are three full scripts completed with an eye towards an entire trilogy.

Here's some quotes from Miller on the topic:

“We started with [Fury Road], but we then started to do a second story and a third,” he says. “We’ve written the script for the second and almost finished the third. We never intended to, they were part of the exploration of the characters.”

In regards to the (first) film's budget, Miller's producer Doug Mitchell says “it’s confidential but it’s massive. Because the studio has so much money on the table, they did bravely step up their exposure. If you’re talking about a big film, an action film, find a budget that’s big and it’s that.”

Read more about it and his wonderful work on Happy Feet 2 here.

MAD MAX: FURY ROAD reportedly begins shooting in Nambia in April. Warner Bros. is still on board to produce and distribute and Miller says the budget is f-ing massive.

They need to start shooting this thing. I have been waiting for 3 years for one of the best anti-heroes to return to cinema. And I need great lines like: "we do it my way. Fear is our ally. The gasoline will be ours. Then you shall have your revenge!" Name the character...

I hope its set in America this time. The old movies were in some 3rd world country in Africa or something.

more civilization go to a city and not a desert. thank you./ I saw some of the old movies and with all the shooting you'd think someone would have called the cops.
