Lauren DeStefano's dystopic sci-fi fantasy series "Wither" sounds fascinating. A failed attempt to create DNA perfection in humans results in - *gulps* - guys dying at 25 and chicks at 20. The answer in this society? Forced polygamy.

The book is the first in a trilogy of novels called "The Chemical Garden Trilogy" and Wither has been picked up for the screen by Prospect Park and Violet House Productions.

Synopsis:
WITHER is set in a future where the world's in a state of panic due to a failed effort to create a perfect race that's left women with a lifespan of 20 years while men die at 25.

The book series follows a kidnapped girl and her attempt to escape from a forced polygamous marriage designed to keep the population from dying out.
