In true Pearry Teo (Dead Inside, Necromentia) form, Bedlam Stories is a new horror/fantasy project that puts a sinister twist on two of the world's most famous tales: Alice in Wonderland and The Wizard of OZ.

Set in the 1920s, in Bedlam Asylum, the story revolves around Dorothy of Oz and Alice from Wonderland as they are brought into the asylum to treat their fantasy land delusions. But doctors soon realize that the patients' imaginations may actually be real.

The movie is currently being turned into an intellectual property by Rebecca Parisi. Pearry says the project is vast and definitely has transmedia potential and he hopes to release it in other media like iPad apps while it develops into a feature movie which could take another year or so. The reason for the long turn around time? Teo has amitious plans to partially film it as a period piece and do all the visual FX practically... which, he says, includes the monsters.

We've been shown a couple pieces of conceptual design for Pearry Teo's Bedlam Stories. Check out Teo's vision for the Cheshire Cat. Striking stuff.

The film is written by Nicole Jones and Pearry Teo, Book by James Curcio.
