Geez IFC, take your bloody time. I got a screener for this long before this trailer which just dropped. This film is a look at what would happen if everyone knew the world was ending. Our own Crystal Ferret loved it calling it a true mastery of filmmaking. Now, you can get a glimpse for yourself.

Directed by Abel Ferrara, it stars Willem Dafoe.

I have a fuzzy memory of this old Ray Bradbury story about something similar to this - where everyone instinctively knows the world will end before they go to sleep. It's just a conversation between a husband and wife. They're very calm and content, even though outside there are things happening. This looks great though.

Wasn't that a chapter in The Illustrated Man, and they are wrong.

So I've been seeing the number 444 here and there for years. I thought it was some mystical thing but now I now it was just leading up to a major motion picture...

Yes, the short story was called "The Last Night of the World".

From Wiki:

"The Last Night of the World" — In this story, a married couple awakens to the knowledge that the world is going to end that very evening. Nonetheless, they go through their normal routines of going to work, eating, brushing their teeth, and falling asleep, knowing and accepting the fact that they will not wake up.

Actually here it is, it's not very long even by short story standards. I remember reading it in 8th or 9th grade.
