Life, liberty and the pursuit of vengeance!
Here's the first trailer for QT's new western, Django Unchained.
Synopsis:
Set in the South two years before the Civil War, DJANGO UNCHAINED stars Academy Award-winner Jamie Foxx as Django, a slave whose brutal history with his former owners lands him face-to-face with German-born bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz (Academy Award-winner Christoph Waltz). Schultz is on the trail of the murderous Brittle brothers, and only Django can lead him to his bounty. The unorthodox Schultz acquires Django with a promise to free him upon the capture of the Brittles – dead or alive.
Success leads Schultz to free Django, though the two men choose not to go their separate ways. Instead, Schultz seeks out the South’s most wanted criminals with Django by his side. Honing vital hunting skills, Django remains focused on one goal: finding and rescuing Broomhilda (Kerry Washington), the wife he lost to the slave trade long ago.
So, spaghetti western fans, what do you think?
[quietearth says: Tarantino's glory days are over, he's ruining classic material. Watch the original Django which stars Franc Nero. It's badass. 'Nuf said.]

Yawn.

Agree with QE. Original is a great western but watching this makes me long for the days when QT could make a film like Jackie Brown, probably his most mature and clever film by a long way.

WOW. All these years of letting Eli Roth suck his cock have clearly rubbed off on QT in a bad way. This looks awful. Who said lack of talent couldn't be passed on through saliva!?!?!

I wish RR would stop over-lighting tables. In a Casino it makes sense, but in the wild west...

Maybe I'm the only one who think that this movie is not be that bad.
Yes, the story is not original but soundtrack rocks, good cast(and there's Franco Nero in a cameo) and some scenes have a an interesting visual impact(the black slaves line, the hooded horsemen at 1:10 and others).
I think that this is not a realistic western, like 'Inglorious Basterds' was not a realistic war movie, but history of cinema is full of not realistic westerns!
Yes, this is not a masterpiece but I think is enjoyable.
P.S.: my opinion is based on the trailer, any more in depth analysis is welcome!

i agree with Beppe. not to win the movie of the year award but going to be awesome in it's own way. i like waltz giving the "german bastard". but there is some truth in it when you claim that QT's best days are gone.

I look forward to tarantino's take on the western. He already tackled the world war II with inglorious bastards and that was pretty entertaining. l loved the original and I expect he will pay homage to it while putting his own take on it.

Checked imdb and Franco Nero will be in it... The original Django is still awesome after all these years.
BUT that said... I may be feeling a little touchy at the moment, but the "Kill white folks" line hit me as extremely offensive.
