You're probably thinking "Dude, you're late." So why am I putting this up now? Because I've been hella busy and some great (and interesting) stuff came out this week, specifically Midnight Son and Lockout, among others, so check out the DVD list below!

Extraterrestrial (Amazon)
Nacho Vigalondo's followup to the incredible Timecrimes was loved by The Crimson Ferrett, so-so'd by rochefort, and so bad for me, that I turned it off. That's a wide range of opinion.
Everyone knows what to do if one morning the sky would be absolutely full of UFOs: run as fast as you can. However, what would happen if the invasion started while you are in the flat of the girl of your dreams, the one you have just met?

Midnight Son (Amazon)
I discovered this indie vampire flick years ago and not only do I love it, but our other two team members who saw it did as well.
The story of a young man confined to a life of isolation, due to a very rare skin disorder. His world changes when he meets a local bartender and falls in love. Jacob worsening condition Forced by the disease to drink human blood for sustenance law enforcement narrow their focus on him as a suspect in a series of grisly murders.

4:44 Last Day On Earth (Amazon)
This is an incredibly bland apocalyptic drama set in an apartment, but our own Crimson Ferrett loved it.
A look at how a painter and a successful actor spend their last day together before the world comes to an end.

Lockout (Amazon)
While predictable and formulaic, this space actioner, co-written by Luc Besson, is a lot of fun.
Set in the near future, a falsely convicted ex-government agent has one chance at obtaining freedom. He must undertake a dangerous mission to rescue the President's daughter from rioting convicts at an outer space maximum-security prison.

Lockout is a silly mashup of Fortress, Demolition Man, and Escape From New York, with video game graphics for special effects, sets built out of cardboard, and a childs understanding of space and science.

Did I like it?

Absolutely. I know that I did.

Their only error is that they should have named the main character "Snake Pliskin
"... It was THAT "escape from" genre.

Oh, and 4:44 ? Dreck. The world ends with LESS than a whimper.
