Moviehole recently posted news stating Mark Wahlberg and Liam Neeson have been offered roles in Vincenzo Natali's adaptation of Neuromancer. We have no idea if this is a rumor, let alone true, as they have not named their source. They also stated that producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura is behind this. Bonvanventura has produced many major Hollywood films, almost all of them bad. This begs the question: How much control does Natali have?

If it is true, this points to another Hollywood adaptation debacle even though Natali stated in our recent interview that Neuromancer is an independent production. Both actors are great, but neither is appropriate. We're hoping for lesser knowns as many of us recently talked about on planetdamage.

It'll never, ever get made without name actors. No chance. You need the names to justify the budget.
